"I have recently retired from a successful and rewarding 35 year career working in the public sector as an external auditor with the Wales Audit Office, formerly the Audit Commission in England and Wales.
"Throughout my career I was practising as a qualified accountant and, for most of that time, acting in the position of senior audit manager. My responsibilities extended to the external audit of local authorities and NHS bodies across North Wales together with various colleges and schools and certain Home Office services including police, probation and courts. My role was particularly challenging owing to the considerable structural and organisational changes to those bodies during my career and the need to help them put in place the highest standards of corporate governance and financial reporting, in line with the requirements of the latest international accounting and auditing standards. Now that I am no longer working in the public sector I am keen to establish a small boutique accountancy practice.
